Hey guys, let me stay anonymous first of all, don’t ask for my name or e-mail. Second, I wanted to add to the info on the survey, here’s the deal on advertising. I want no more than half the commercials that are on commercial radio, that means no more than ten minutes an hour, or I will stop listening, 5 minutes would be better. Next, I want only RELEVANT commercials, if you adertise to me about golf, like they do on Inside Mac radio, you are really going to piss me off. Also, don’t run the same ads all the time, if you have an advertiser, only run the same commercial once an hour, more than one commercial for an advertiser is ok, but they MUST not be the same commercial. In a nutshell, you need to make the commercials blend into the content. Here’s a good hint, no commercial should be more seconds than the podcast is minutes long, and there should be no more than one minute of commercials for each ten minutes of content. That means, a 30 minute podcast should contain no commercials over 30 seconds, a 60 minute should contain no commercials longer than 60 seconds, etc. This keeps in line with the attention span of the listeners. I have already started skipping commercials in podcasts, and have stopped subscribing to shows that have too many.
Cheers.

Generally I don’t reply to chickens who want to remain anonymous, but in this case, since you make great points, I will break my own rule.
Ten minutes an hour??? holy crap. No wonder I don’t listen to radio anymore. We’re thinking like maybe 2 minutes an hour. Whaddya reckon?
