Global Geek Twittercast
The Global Geek’s decided to record their most recent podcast whilst Twittering, thus allowing Twitter comments from participants to drive the show. It made for such a great show that it went long. No surprise there.
My only comment is that it would have been nice to have a Global Geek Podcast Twitter page that one had to follow to participate. Then anyone could follow the conversation from via one static link. Also, it might allow the “wannabe geeks” to understand the concept a little better, especially since many haven’t even heard of Twitter yet.
I loved the outcome, which is now posted on the Global Geek Podcast page. Go listen for yourselves!

Thanks for the mention on the blog. Glad to hear that you thought the result was great. The show was hard work! Especially trying to get those other two’s attention at times.
But we had a heap of fun with it and we got some exposure for the show.
The reason that we don’t have a GGP twitter account is that we are three hosts - 2 in Australia and one in Belgium. So I am not sure how twitter would cope with three of us logged into the same account, you know how flaky twitter is. Plus Knightwise and Tim would try to break it… Don’t ask me they do that kind of stuff, especially Knightwise.
The response from listeners has been great and we have even picked up a few more. I must have had at least 6 - 7 friend requests both during and after the show.
Great fun and hard work but worth it. BTW when I say it went long… not that much longer - we do aim for about an hour… we just can’t get it under that and more often than not over. Our listeners have responded with a resounding “let it roll” so far as time, so we aim for an hour and don’t stress too much is we go over.
Again thanks for the story.
